1977: North Fort Worth Architectural/Historical Survey For over 30 years the NFWHS has been active in discovering and documenting the history of North Fort Worth as a part of its mission to rediscover, perpetuate and preserve. In 1977, the NFWHS joined with several other local organizations to compile and publish a groundbreaking, 35-page pictorial historical survey of North Fort Worth. Well received initially, this survey lay unnoticed for many years and was neither found nor accessed until discovered in the files of the NFWHS. It is very pertinent to the present day issues of preserving the Trinity Bluffs, the remaining historical structures in the Samuels Avenue area and for future development of the Trinity River and the Trinity Uptown project all of which are issues in which the NFWHS is involved with oversight and consultation. The publication of this important 1977 document is the first in a series of digital publications from the NFWHS archives. |
