NFWHS December 2007 Meeting & Christmas Party at Joe T’s

There was a festive full house for the annual North Fort Worth Historical Society Christmas party the evening of December 10th. The new NFWHS president Tom Weiderhold kicked things off with an award to Duane Haley the immediate past president whose response brought a standing ovation.  Fine food with great music and a crowd whose notables included Barry Corbin, who was awarded a life membership, and Rick Selcer the well known author of the classic Hell’s Half Acre, made the evening a big success.

Quanah Parker Texas Historical Marker Dedication  ~ March 15, 2008

On a beautiful but windy spring morning in the Stockyards, the Tarrant County Historical Association hosted the dedication of the Historical marker recognizing Quanah Parker. A number of NFWHS members attended & participated and the event was recorded for the archives. Here are a few pictures….

April 10, 2008 ~ Membership Outing at the T-Bar-D

The weatherman fully cooperated with beautiful spring weather as the NFWHS membership again gathered at the T-Bar-D ranch north of Justin for food and fun. Tom Dodd was our host while Chuck Holland and Becky Marshall were the hard driving bosses that brought it all off. Music was provided by the Texas Trio and Society President Tom Wiederhold and his gang of skittish actors produced some bang up entertainment.
