NFWHS December 2008 Meeting and Christmas Party

There was a festive full house for the annual North Fort Worth Historical Society Christmas party the evening of Monday, December 8th. NFWHS president Tom Wiederhold kicked things off for the evening featuring good food, great music and a cheerful crowd at Joe T’s great restaurant.

Tom Wiederhold and Marty Humphrey entertained with a cute skit about Scrooge and Fern Marin portrayed Santa Claus. Entertainment was provided by J’Lee and friend. Dinner was great, door prizes were won and everyone had a great night out!

The Speaker Rocks the House!

An evening with Jim Wright

On the evening of August 1, 2008 the XTO/Swift third-floor meeting room was overflowing with an appreciative crowd as former Speaker of the House Jim Wright was at the top of his form.  His speech was filled with memories and stories of Fort Worth and the North Side, his days in Washington and his remembrances of all the presidents he has known. At the end of the program Wright received a certificate as a Marshall of North Fort Worth. Joy Webster, representing XTO Energy, hosted the special meeting in the beautifully renovated Swift building.
