1936 Palace Theater When the Palace Theater was remodeled in 1936, our old light bulb had been burning backstage for about 28 years non-stop. The Palace Theater, built in the golden age of movie houses was indeed a Palace. Even in the middle of the Great Depression, the theater held an elegant opening and the program was a superb 15 page booklet of high artistic value complementing the Art Deco style of the theater itself. This very scarce booklet is in the Stockyards Museum archive. We thought you might like to see a few pages.. The Palace is now just a memory, but the great old light bulb is still at the front of the stage . . . |
